Maintenance Technician

Job Description

Alma Personnel are recruiting for their Rubery based manufacturing client for and experienced Maintenance Technician to be based on site, working rotating shifts.

Day shifts, 6am to 2pm and then 2pm to 10pm, Monday to Friday.


  • Provide breakdown cover both electrical and mechanical
  • Have a knowledge of PLC controlled systems
  • Injection Moulding experience desirable
  • Carry out planned maintenance as per the companies PM schedules
  • Electronically record all relevant information relating to breakdowns and PMs
  • Carry out modifications, plant relocation and re-installation (mechanical and electrical)
  • Work safely within the companies Health and Safety requirements
  • Manage contractors as required
  • Work with the Maintenance Manager to rectify recurring issues
  • Advise on spare part requirement to the Maintenance Manager

Skills and experience :-

  • Level 3 C&G, ONC, HNC, HND in relevant fields mechanical / electrical
  • 17th / 18th edition wiring regulations desirable
  • Ability to read electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic drawings
  • Experience working with PLCs (Siemens, Allen Bradley, Schneider, Mitsubishi, Omron) would be advantageous
  • Experience with sensors and vision systems (Keyence, Sensopart, Balluff. Sick)
  • Knowledge of safety systems (Pilz, Schneider, Weiland, Rockwell, ABB)
  • IT literate MS Office
  • Automotive manufacturing experience
